This 8-week summer internship offers students a chance to contribute to high-impact internal projects within the Health Outreach, Partnerships, and Equity (HOPE) Division at Maricopa County Department of Public Health. Two interns will work in parallel on complementary projects that strengthen how the division welcomes new staff, communicates across teams, and tracks program reach. The intern will focus on Evaluation & Impact, developing an onboarding survey with a supervisor check-in process and creating a division-wide program inventory with a visual impact map. Their work will support stronger evaluation practices and help leadership see how HOPE’s programs fit together to serve the community. Interns will collaborate by aligning their work on onboarding experiences, sharing interview findings, and presenting a joint update to division leadership at the conclusion of the internship. Throughout the experience, both interns will receive mentorship, participate in professional development opportunities, and gain skills in interviewing, project management, public health systems, communications, and evaluation. This is an ideal opportunity for students studying public health, evaluation, communications, community development, or related fields who are excited to work on real-world tools that support health department operations and team culture.
