This internship will support the Continuous Improvement Team in its ongoing collaboration with MCDPH’s Roosevelt Clinic. Building on a year of partnership and process improvement initiatives, the intern will assist in advancing identified projects, completing outstanding action items, and supporting the successful implementation and sustainability of improvement efforts.
The priority projects that will be worked on are:
- Patient/Customer Complaint Process (SharePoint/Microsoft)
A digital workflow to replace the paper complaint process, allowing staff to log, review, and resolve patient or customer complaints with clear documentation and follow-up tracking.
- Medication Error and Roosevelt Reporting (SharePoint/Microsoft)
Digitizes the reporting of medication errors and Dr. Roosevelt events—medical emergencies requiring clinic staff response—providing structured documentation, improved tracking, and support for compliance and quality improvement.
- Infection Control Logs (SharePoint/Microsoft)
Moves infection control logs from paper to a digital platform, enabling consistent logging, automated reminders, easier audits, and trend analysis.
- Process Documentation for Medical Records and Billing
Consolidates existing notes and documentation from various sources into a consistent, standardized format stored in a centralized location where all staff can easily access it.
