The Office of Program Evaluation oversees evaluation planning and implementation for most of the federally funded activities at MCDPH. One of the larger grants that the department receives is the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG). Among other benefits, PHIG funding has allowed the department to retain and develop workforce and build sustainable infrastructure for continuous quality improvement. The Office of Continuous Improvement and Innovation has completed various activities to promote a culture of quality improvement across the department. Standardized assessments were completed by the Office of Continuous Improvement and Innovation and were used to inform development of the department’s current Continuous Improvement Plan. This internship position will develop and implement an evaluation of department adoption of continuous improvement processes and approaches. Findings from this evaluation project will validate (or invalidate) findings from previous assessments and inform the next iteration of the department’s Strategic Plan and Continuous Improvement Plan. Data collection tools from this project will also be used in future assessments to capture longitudinal data.
