Maricopa County's Department of Public Health (MCDPH) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college intern to assist with documenting key internal communications processes. This role is ideal for a student with strong writing skills and an interest in process mapping, communication workflows, and internal messaging systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Document internal communications processes such as: - Newsletter production - Intranet content updates - Execution of internal communications campaign 2. Create clear and usable materials such as: - Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Process maps - Training videos or screen recordings 3. Collaborate with team members to gather process information through observation and interviews 4. Ensure consistency and clarity in process documentation, applying best practices 5. (As available) Support additional communications projects or internal engagement tasks PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Enrolled in or recently completed a college program in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field - Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) - Bonus experience with: SharePoint, Canva, Visio, Mural, or other process documentation tools KEY SKILLS - Strong written communication and editing skills - Attention to detail and ability to organize complex information clearly - Self-starter who can work independently and collaborate with others - Knowledge of best practices in process documentation and user-centered communication
